Honesty is the Best Policy! Be Transparent on Amazon
At this point, it’s general knowledge that no one likes shady characters, or shady activities. Especially Amazon. In fact, Amazon is hellbent on suspending accounts left and right if it finds even a spec of information mismatch anywhere. What that means for sellers is simply this: run an honest business!
However, there might be times when Amazon will unjustly suspend an account because of a reason which was completely unintentional on part of the seller. It could either have been lack of knowledge or experience, or simply a case of human error. Nevertheless, even in these cases, transparency is key when preparing an appeal. If you are a seller which has been suspended on Amazon, here are some tips which will guide you through the reinstatement process:
- Step 1: We might sound like a broken record, but, for the sake of repetition: be honest! Dedicate sufficient time to your case and study your account + your activities with precision. Then, address Amazon’s concerns with complete honesty and precision. That brings us to:
- Step 2: Don’t be ashamed of admitting guilt! Hey, you’re only human. Mistakes are bound to happen. But make sure Amazon knows how and why they happened. You need sufficient proof that whatever got your account suspended was due to a fault on your part and that you have recognized this fault.
- Step 3: Own up to your mistakes. Show Amazon that you are willing to take responsibility for your mistakes and that you have taken steps to make sure you don’t repeat it in the future. Be as detailed as possible as to how you are going to solve the problem. Let them know that you have learned from their mistakes.
- Step 4: Keep it short and to the point: As honest as you may be, you do not want to over-explain anything, especially information which is unrelated to your case. When providing honest information, try being as clear-cut and to the point as possible. When formulating the POA, please refrain from using over-emotional language, as well as emojis (yes, some people have used emojis and this does NOT help). With an appropriate knowledge of these fundamental ingredients, writing a Plan of Actions will be a piece of cake for you. The POA should be informative and full of stuff Amazon wants to see. Our opinion is that you should take your time and concentrate on digging up the information for Amazon. Always remember that the person who reads your POA literally has just a few minutes on getting to know your problem, so you should go straight to the point. This way you give them the straight answer to your question – to reinstate or not to reinstate.
